Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, GZA Headline
The headliners of our 4th-Annual San Francisco Bay Area Medical Cannabis Cup are Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. The trio will take the stage Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond for the Homegrown Party presented by Cali Connection. This reunion is an experience that will be hard to forget.
Ghostface Killah is a master collaborator and key member of the Wu-Tang Clan pantheon, critically acclaimed for his loud, fast flow and deeply permeating lyrics. In 2006, MTV included him on their honorable mention list of The Greatest MCs of All Time. Most recently, he headlined the 25th HIGH TIMES Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam alongside DOOM and special guests.
Raekwon started as an integral part of the Wu-Tang Clan, with a sharp verbal ability that took center stage early in the original cult classic "Protect Ya Neck." He has since gone on to record numerous solo albums as well as continuing to work with Wu-Tang and providing an extensive number of guest contributions to other hip-hop artists' works. He is the founder of ICEH20 Records.
GZA/The Genius is a founding member of the seminal Wu-Tang Clan. GZA boasted some high-profile appearances on the group's debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), including one of only two solo tracks, "Clan in da Front." GZA's 1995 solo effort, Liquid Swords, produced entirely by RZA, met with critical and commercial acclaim, and is largely considered one of the best albums to come out of the Wu-Tang camp. In 1998, the album was selected as one of The Source Magazine's 100 Best Rap Albums of all time.
